Campeche Beach

The beach of Campeche is located in the town of the same name on the island of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, from the famous beach of Joaquina beach and Morro das Pedras. Just ahead lies the island of Campeche. The region went through a process of expansion and overvalued real estate in the last decade. With the development of the region, some infrastructure problems have changed the profile of the neighborhood. The lack of sanitation and irregular buildings put at risk the preservation of the farm. But in recent years has begun the creation of a sewer system, with treatment plant for the entire region.

Sports

The beach is visited by surfers worldwide, who are known the "right", reaching over a meter in the southern hemisphere winter. Several other sports have a place on this beach, including bodyboard, KITESURFING, kayaking and footvoley. The stretch known as the Campeche Riozinho concentrates more of the practitioners of these sports.

Whales

Also during the winter, especially between the months of July and August, right whales usually visit the beach, which serves as a nursery for the species.

Campeche Island

To the east of Santa Catarina Island, Campeche beach, one can see the island of Campeche.

Located on the coast of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, in the Atlantic Ocean. He belongs to the municipality of Florianópolis.

The island area of Campeche is about 381.648.00 . In the north-south direction is about 1500m and 500m east-west.

On the west coast of the island is a beautiful beach of fine white sand.

There are brands of very old occupation of the island. There are rocks covered with signs like those found in other parts of the archipelago. This makes the island is of archaeological interest.
