Quitongo Beach

River beach with the influence of the sea is protected by the island located just ahead Cassumba being conducive to water sports especially sailing at high tide. It is located regional headquarters of IBAMA and a hotel pier for berthing. It is the closest beach town and the mouth of river at Km Caravelas is a road that connects the seat of mnicípio districts of Ponta da Areia and Barra. It is bordered by lush vegetation typical of mangroves and reefs including dozens of pitangueiras and cashew trees, which give rise to a typical landscape of northeastern Brazil.
