Chico Mendes Park

History

The Chico Mendes Park was opened in June 4, 1989 and is the result of the expropriation occurred in 1987, of the estate Figueira Grande. It is located in the region of Sao Miguel Paulista, one of the poorest areas of the city green.

Flora

The park is located in a small valley and includes springs that feed a stream dammed to form an artificial lake. Its vegetation consists of forest remaining, which protects the springs and the creek came down to the lake. The two trails that traverse the park area of forest.
