The FIFA World Cup 2014 will be the 20th edition of the event and will host country Brazil. The competition will take place for the fifth time in south America after 36 years without a host, since Argentina hosted the event in 1978, consistent with the policy of the FIFA rotation in a bid to host the World Cup between the different continental confederations.
Brazil is automatically classified the first country to compete in the 2014 World Cup for being the host of the world.
